Avatar

For this assignment we had to create an avatar of ourselves and an alter-ego for that avatar. I approached this assignment by tracing a picture of my self and then duplicating that image. I then made adjustments to both images so that one was good and the other was evil. I was inspired by the works of my classmates. I am happy with the way this turned out.

New Media Artist

For this assignment I had to make an advertisement for my services as a Digital Imager. I picked out my favorite pieces and arranged them inside a frame. I am very happy with the way this turned out.

Color Wheel Stencil

This was the same assignment as the previous image except I took these pictures.

Ice Cream Rainbow

For this assignment we had to create a rainbow with pictures that all fit in the same theme. I approached this assignment by picking a theme, and then finding image that fit with it. I then created a stamp and "stamped" the ice cream bit. I am very happy with the way this came out.

Dehydrated H2O

For this assignment we had to take any product, real or fake, and create an advertisement for it. I picked dehydrated water because it seemed like a funny thing to sell. I approached this assignment by creating a "packet" of dehydrated water using the paint and text tools. I then formed the add around it with pictures I found online. I was inspired by the visual puns assignment from earlier. I would not do anything differently, I am happy with the way it turned out.

Wolfgang Kals

This portrait of Michael Jackson was painted by Wolfgang Kals. It inspires me in that it is an image of one the greatest artists of all time, it is messy, and it captures several emotions. I also really like this style of artwork.

Calvin Comic Strip

For this assignment we had to create a comic strip by taking photos and then sketching them on Photoshop. We choose to duplicate a Calvin & Hobbes comic. We approached this assignment by first choosing a comic, then having a photo shoot, and then finally sketching the images. We used the paintbrush tool to draw everything. I was inspired by the previous class's work. I would not do anything differently.

Mommy & Me

 

In honor of Mother's Day I decided to illustrate a picture of my mom and I. The original picture was taken in New York City over Spring Break. I approached this assignment by picking out an image I really liked and then I traced it with the paintbrush tool. I was inspired by the comics we made last assignment. My favorite part is the scarf. I am happy with the way it turned out, I wouldn't to do anything differently.

Panorama

For this assignment we had to take 3 overlapping pictures and turn them into a panoramic shot. I took this picture in the hall outside my classroom. I approached this assignment by taking several different sets of pictures and then choosing the best set. I am happy with the way this turned out.

Armchair

For this assignment we had to take an armchair and reupholster it with artwork from one artist. I approached this assignment by picking out and artist (Picasso), and then finding pictures I liked by him. Using the warp tool I changed the shape of the images to make it appear as though they were actually part of the chair. If I were to do anything differently I would make the shadow better. I was inspired by Picasso. 

Kaleidoscope

Fot this assignment we had to take a picture and adjust it so that it looked like you were viewing it through a Kaleidoscope. I approached this assignment by picking out a picture I had taken and cropping it into a 5x5 square. I then cut the square in half diagonally and rotated/ copied it to fill the canvas. I was inspired by my classmates work. I would not do anything differently. 

Midterm

For this assignment we had to take 24-30 images and turn them into a collage along with several original images. I approached this assignment by picking a theme -- NYC. I then found pictures on the internet and added filters and effects to make them blend in a random, fun way. I was inspired by the many billboards in Time Square. If I could do anything differently I would have more images in the assignment.

9x Project

For this project I had to do the same thing as the 4 Square Project except have 9 pictures of myself and add a frame. I took the picture with the webcam on my computer and then changed the photo background using Photoshop. I was inspired by my previous work. I approached this by picking a color theme and using filters that would agree with my theme. I would not do anything differently. 

Taaz

For this assignment we had to go to a photo-editing site, edit a photo, and then write a review of the site. I went to Taaz.com, a free website that lets you put makeup on models or on pictures you upload. Its cool because it makes it easy to edit peoples faces. It is a lot more basic than photoshop because with photoshop you can to anything, unlike on Taaz.com where you can only do hair and makeup. I think the target audience is teenage girls because they are the ones who follow celebrity trends and experiment with makeup. If you want to test it out the link is http://www.taaz.com/.

4 Square Filter Project

For this assignment we had to take an image, copy it four times and apply different filters to them. I approached this project at random by selecting different filters and just experimenting with their combined effects. I was inspired by the examples. If I could do anything differently I would combine more filters and have a theme.

Visual Puns

For this assignment we had to take four oxymorons and turn them into visual puns. I approached this assignment by picking four oxymorons and and picturing them as two things combined instead of one normal thing. I then found pictures on google and tweaked them a little to make everything fit. I was inspired by examples from previous students. I would not do anything differently.

Abstracts

For tis assignment we had to create to abstract works based on the works of Marla, an abstract 4 year old artist. I approached this assignment with no plan. I just threw in random colors that seemed right. I was inspired by Marla's paintings. I would not do anything differently.

Firework

For this assignment we had to take an image and place it with text. I choose the song "Firework" by Katy Perry and attached it to fireworks. I approached this project by changing the filter on the image and then dividing the lyrics so that each part of the song could be a different firework. I was inspired by the music video to this song. If I were to do this again I would have made the text more round. 

ME :)

For this assignment I had to take a picture of me and turn it into a negative shape. I then had to fill the blank space that was me into a collage of things "all about me." I approached this project by finding tons of pictures of things I like or define me on Google. I then put these pictures randomly into a picture of me that I had turned into a negative shape. I was inspired by my classmates. I really liked how this turned out and wouldn't change it.

Crazy Combo

For this assignment we were supposed to create a "Crazy Combo" of animals in order to create a new animal. I approached the assignment by finding a bunch of pictures of animals online and then picking and choosing what I liked from each animal. I was inspired by the "Crazy Combos" of the previous class. If I could do anything differently I would make the tail look more natural and fix the legs in the front. Overall this is one of my favorites.

15 Green Things

For this assignment I had to take 15 green images and turn them into one image. At first I tried to turn them into a collage but that didn't work out very well. Then I tried editing the images to combine them and make them things that they were not. For example, I turned a parking meter into a security camera and grass into a beat up pillar. I was inspired by the "Crazy Combos" that the other digital imaging class made last semester. I am satisfied with my work but I wish I could have made some things blend in more. If I were to do it differently I would make everything in color and focus less on the cat and the car.

1st Assignment

For our assignment we were given multiple images and asked to rearrange and edit them. The original file started with a Tye-dye background, rainbow stripes, one small black music not and 3 black musicians all on the same layer. I had to split the layers, copy and re size the music not, split and decoratively erase the rainbow stripes and change the colors of the musicians and music notes using only colors in the picture. I approached it by looking at my first draft, seeing what I liked and didn't like, and then made those changes in my second draft. I was inspired by the original image. If I could do anything differently, I would use a different eraser shape.

This is just a picture of Times Square that I found on Google. Our assignment was to play around with the filters on Photoshop and this one was my favorite. The filter is called "Glowing Edges."
